Se oli kuitenkin ihan miellytt\u00e4v\u00e4 verrattuna kalanruuan hajuiseen osastoon, jossa kaupattiin mm. kuivattuja katkarapuja ja erikokoisia kuivattuja anjoviksia, avolaareissa tietenkin. Nekin j\u00e4iv\u00e4t kauppaan. Sipsihyllyst\u00e4 bongasimme my\u00f6s merilev\u00e4-aromilla varustetut sipsit. Nekin saivat j\u00e4\u00e4d\u00e4 hyllyyn. L\u00f6ysimme kaupasta kuitenkin kaiken tarpeellisen, ja hieman enemm\u00e4nkin. The closest supermarket (NSK Grocer) to us was in the basement of a local shopping mall. We went there to check out the place and buy some stuff for breakfast.<\/p><p>The majority of the items seemed to be sold in bulk or in very tiny packages. There was nothing in between. We could have bought five or ten kg of rice, for example.<\/p><p>The most interesting section was the one where they were selling fish. We spent a good while there by looking at different kinds and sizes of fish, squid, shrimp, clams, oysters etc. We were only window shopping, though. None of us wanted to figure out how to prepare a slimy squid, for example. The fish section didn\u2019t smell that bad to be honest. Only when we got to the area where they had all sorts of dried stuff on sale, the smell got worse. The dried chili peppers smelled nice, but the dried shrimp or anchovies smelled like fish food. On the crisps shelf we spotted sea weed flavoured crisps. Didn\u2019t try them either.<\/p><p>Even though we skipped all the local delicacies, we managed to fill our bags with fruit, yoghurt, water and candy for the kid\u2019s candy plate they had been planning to make.
